Remove AX Weapon limit

Per title, this restriction should be removed. There is no obvious explanation for it, and i think that weapons which have been around for years should no longer be considered "experimental".

If the restriction must exist in some form, please separate AX and guardian (and allow 4 of each type). Arbitrary restrictions are tacky and I hate them.

Pretty sure the 4 ex weapon limit was to prevent us from face rolling the goids. They are supposed to be the baddest NPCs in the game. The current end bosses of NPC's. Let me load up an Annie/Cutter/Vette with all AX/Guardian weapons and soloing the Interceptors class Thargoids goes from a fairly challenging endeavor that takes some thought and preparation, to relatively easy. If you add a buff for the goids in the process to balance the AX/Experimental buff us players are receiving, you then reduce how well the medium/small ships can handle Thargoids. It would be nice, and I think it can be done in a balanced way, but I do recognize why we were prolly limited to 4 experimental weapons.
 
A little bit of over kill there?
4 AX and 4 Guardian and unlimited amount of adv multicannons.
You just wanting to 1 shot thargoid ships?

Every thing I read sez it's not about this or that. It's about tactics. Although this and that helps.:)
I never want it to be easy, even mildly hard. Insanely hard, OK I give.

I have squashed many scout, solo’d a few dozen cyclops, and fought basilisks and medusas as part of a wing. Never touched a hydra.

The outfitting limitations due to the weapon cap are arbitrary and frustrating in that it handicaps build options.

I think the fear of thargoids becoming too easy is misplaced for 2 main reasons. 1) they can always add another interceptor variant and 2) PVE difficulty should come from the challenge of the fight, not arbitrary limitations that are not present anywhere else in the game. The weapons are already un-engineer-able, and the guardian ones require significant expense and time to unlock.

You are right that these fights rely heavily on tactics, unlocking the weapon restrictions will not change that
 
The cap to four weapons sure is not elegant. But it does have a purpose: it makes a lot of ships a viable choice for AX duty. Would you be able to carry an unlimited number of weapons, we'd be in the same corner as with other content: bring the biggest ship at hand or get lost.

I see nothing in this thread which would actually add to the game, it would only reduce the diversity of ships useful for the task. So we'd sacrifice options in favour of power creep. I don't consider this a good idea, sorry.
