Remove gimbaled weapons please!

All the weapons are overpowered, Fd should remove them all and have the ships fitted with wet paper towel catapults, once someones canopy is covered and they can't see and crash into a planet then you collect the bounty.
 
I'm really enjoying ED so far but since I upgraded my Cobra to gimbaled weapons I no longer feel like I made a kill, I feel like my ship did. The combat is far to easy and unrewarding with them. In most games people need to install aimbots to achieve this level of simplicity! Get behind ship, hold down button, repeat, profit. I have yet to find the best weapons that I want that are fixed and I have spent a fair amount of time searching. Do I need to use poor weapons as well as having to aim myself if I want to play the game in a way I find rewarding? If someone can tall me where ot buy fixed beam lasers for example that would be helpful

I would like this to be a skill game that takes time to master (And I do really like the changing of pipes ect) not just a dumbed down unrewarding grind. Great so far but I feel adding hacks into the game as default to be a very poor design choice

Im not hating on an otherwise fun game. I just want it to feel rewarding

Part of the problem is that NPC ships always try to close up the range when in combat which is the sweet spot for gimbaled weapons, another human player however would probably "kite" you i.e. try to attack you at a range of 2.5 - 3 k with their fixed weps knowing that your gimbals cannot get a good lock.
 
So allow me to ask another question. On the Cobra if you wish to fit an all fixed weapon loadout taking into account heat,power available, offset aiming of miss matched weapons (eg cannon and laser) what are the options?

Upgrade the power plant so you can run an all laser setup?

With the money I have now I can only really get it to work with 1 set gimballeda and one fixed at any sort of range

this is where the physical differences between the ships actually means something. in many games it's all just down to stats. in elite where the hard points are has meaning. also with head tracking the visibility has meaning. an eagle has brilliant visibility for dogfighting, a viper, not so much.

to cobra just doesn't do too well with all fixed weapons if you are hunting small targets. it would be fine for just the 150K assassination missions as an anaconda is more than wide enough for all 4 weapons to hit all the time.

so it makes sense to fit at least gimbled class 1's on the cobra if you expect to fight smaller ships as well as bigger ships. this for me is part of the charm of the game and why i like having both the viper and the cobra.
