Remove Species Restrictions in Career Mode (Replay Value)

Right now, career mode doesn't have much replay value because we're forced to use the same animals over and over again. I would love to replay the whole career mode on hard and do something entirely different this time (and maybe another time and another after that? :D) Removing the animal species restrictions in careed mode would allow us to choose from all animals including DLC (I still haven't gotten to play with all of them). This would add so much regarding gameplay creativity & variety and turn career mode into a fun and replayable challenge that we can take on differently each time. :geek:

This might not work for some of the scenarios. E.g. the desert scenario mostly offers animals that need water. If all animals were available, the zoo would be no challenge at all, particularly at hard.

Some scenarios have all the animals to choose from. So the decision to make all or only certain animals available is clearly based on the individusl scenario and part of the challenge.

Fair point - I guess it makes sense for the desert scenario to have special restrictions because the hard part about that one is having semi-aquatic animals. But for most scenarios it wouldn't matter. I honestly can't remember any career scenario that offers every species? Maybe that's just me though. I would also love to be able to play with the new DLC in career mode. Replaying all the scenarios and having to choose the same species over and over again for most of them is a real bummer to me :/ Career mode deserves all the replay value ❤

I'm not sure if this would interest you...you can open a saved career-mode park as a sandbox park which gives you access to all the animals. If you save a new career park, exit it, then go in "My Zoos" go over the save file and "Open as Sandbox" option will show up.

Yes I already know about that, but thank you very much 😊 Sandbox mode is amazing for building and creativity - but when it comes to "actual" gameplay it lacks challenge - for my taste at least :)

Sandbox has settings to allow you to use it in exactly the same way as Challenge Mode. You can set a baseline for money and conservation credits. The only thing you can't do is progressive research.

Thank you for the idea that does help a little 😊 The thing I love about career mode though is the story aspect - you can't really recreate this in the current challenge mode. Challenges in challenge mode are too generic for me. They don't make you feel like you have a purpose (if that makes any sense ^^). If you have played Zoo Tycoon 2 maybe you'll know what I mean 😄 (They were like "hey we found this orphaned zebra, can you nurse it back to health and then release it back to the wild?" or "this herd of elephants was saved from poachers, can you give them a home?" - they had some sort of story and randomness that could add a lot of spice to your gameplay. The challenges in PZ are mostly "attract 2000 guests", "make 3000.- from food", "raise education rating to 80%" etc.). Would love to see improved random challenges with maybe a little backstory - but that's for another thread ;)

Yeah, I do recall those events in Zoo Tycoon 2 (even the scenarios in the original Zoo Tycoon were similar - I remember one where you had to do specific research to unlock the giant panda, and another where they gave you a baby humpback to raise and return to the wild).

Although to be honest, for me it's all about building creatively, so I don't miss the challenges as much.

I think we should get more animals as we earn credit or money to afford such animals. Currently the idea is there but it should be little more number of animals available.
