Remove station supports?

Is this possible and if so how? I only notice it works when placing paths underneath but that looks silly

sadly not. station parts have the option to disable supports but it has no effect. beside pathes you can place other stations or track parts below your station for same effect, but as soon as terrain is between, supports are back in business.

you can just decorate, but if you like to have an "open" area below your station building (think of an oil platform f.e.), you have to make compromises - like creating a thick fundament which allows to place and hide an edged pathway area below the station.

quick example:

i've used stairs to lift a random path (smallest size of a regular path), then created a flat, lifted platform (use grid to have edged pieces), placed the station to its lowest possible position on top of that and then removed all unnecessary path parts. this way you have the flattest possible solution for a fundament which hides the supports.

decorate the station as you like, you could even just decorate just the path you want to hide and make something else with the station - in this case i guess it doesn't matter how close the path is placed below your station, just don't use terrain to decorate the top of your path ;)

addendum - with track ride parts (have used magic katz) you can create a little more compact fundament (just 3.5m of decoration necessary instead of 4.5).

compared to pathways you need less distance to the station (with collision off you need no distance at all, but if the distance between station and track part isn't far enough then the supports appear again. so you have to keep at least the distance as shown in this example ~1m below the station framework.

The most frustrating thing about station supports is that they lie to you. Sometimes, after much struggling, you can actually make station supports disappear, but they always reappear when you're not looking, or if you move the ride, or if you place a blueprint copy of the ride.

haven't spottet that supports reappear without changing anything around such a station. concerning move / blueprint placements you will definitly say hello support when you workaround with pathway below station.

but if you have used parts from a track-ride instead, you can put everything into a blueprint - and you can move the entire thing (use multi selection tool from the bottom tabs) - you can reuse it where you want to place it, and supports stay hidden.

anyway, it would be better if the coaster station option to disable "track support" would do its expected job.

addendum - if anyone is interested - I've added the workaround from my second example (using track ride) to my workshop:
