Don't make me get on my bandwagon again. I had this argument a year or so ago.

As you say, seeing hollow markers does make the galaxy feel more populated (byplayers, that is).

The existence of hollow markers for players works both ways, of course - prey can see the predator immediately and vice-versa.

All anyone would do would be to put up the bandwidth display and be able to see when another player was around anyway.
