Remove The Need To Scan USSs

...or Allow 360° scanning of them.

Please? :p

I'll explain!
Nearly all of the Engineers gameplay can be done from "normal" gameplay now. This is great.
However, when it comes to materials that can only be found in certain USSs, you can no longer really do this, stopping to scan every single USS on route to somewhere makes travel to your destination painfully slow.
You more or less need to dedicate some time to flying around in supercruise, finding and scanning USSs until the right one shows up.

But!
If the USSs were pre-labeled, you would just need to look at the navigation panel to see if it's worth stopping for. You can still require a scan to determine the threat level.

Or if you could scan them from 360°, you'd only need to slow down for a moment until the scan finishes, to see if it's worthwhile.

That would allow players to go about their normal business, and still be able to stumble across those rare material USSs.

Thoughts?

I personally don't mind scanning USS's. However, as I have already said, an Active Primary Scan of a system should reveal all USS's within scanner range (making them effectively persistent for as long as the commander is within that system. Putting USS data through a science module-if you have one-should reveal what kind of USS it is.....as would a passive secondary scan. Doing an active Secondary Scan will even reveal info about what is inside a USS (overall material rarity, for.example).

For me, it is all part of making "exploration"-in the broadest sense of the term-a much less passive endeavour.

Please do not remove the ability to scan "USSs".
I like the element of surprise: suspense creates a feeling of opening gifts on Christmas.

However, given that the light extends quite far, you can add a simple animation of "combat activity" (like gleams of lightning from the approaching storm) to indicate the threat level.

Yes, please. For all of these suggestions. Rep++

For Van Lord, my recommendation would be to have more scanner grades, more scanner types, etc. That way you could use an existing lower-cost scanner and others could use a more expensive, higher capability scanner, to scan UDDs and other objects. Win/win.

By the way, it's not a bad idea! The game will at least look like a simulator, because the gameplay is simplified almost to the level of the autopilot.
Of course, sometimes it's nice to sit back and relax, but if in the game will appear not a "signal sources", but ordinary "advertising signs" - the game will lose its luster.
What would be the point in any scanners, if all ships that would be initially labeled as "friend/foe" and the turret itself will shoot at the enemy? "Click to win", or do not bother to click, you will win in any case.

I don't want to watch a beautiful movie, I want to "test my limits".
- why scan yourself? if everything is visible.
- why to pilot the ship yourself? if you have the autopilot.
- why chew it yourself? if you can attach rich gel directly into the stomach.
- why bother to live at all?

The game are beautiful, please don't simplify it.
