Horizons Removing "Elite: Dangerous 2.2" Watermark???

Delivery/data missions are still worthless. If they had to fix one thing... Well I could have lived with the watermark.

The key to better missions? Become allied with faction(s). That is where the money is. Offered a 15 mill massacre mission last night, not uncommon.

Awesome!

Looking around it would seem they have made lower affiliation with factions less rewarding, to try and make us focus on it a bit more? Perhaps a way to try and balance the Power Play side?

So much of the game is focused around alliances with factions, it really pays to pick a system you like or one required by an Engineer and rep up to ALLIED. The mission rewards are ten times higher, you get access to better missions overall and sometimes it turns out an Engineer might require your alliance with that faction or one of your other allied factions to gain access.

I'm currently working up my Rep with the Alioth Independents and the Alliance so I can get the Alioth System Permit and also unlock the new Engineer Bill Turner. I've neglected the Alliance for the most part, so this one is definitely a grind, but I had been wanting to get my Alliance rep up for a while now.

I don't see how you can get the most out of this game without taking the time to form these alliances. They change the entire experience and in the end are worth the time and effort in my opinion.

I totally agree! When I started out this is exactly what I was doing. I still frequent those systems. Looks like I need to spend more time there.

If the missions available only just cover costs, when nothing goes wrong, achieving allied is... an issue.

If you are using them to gain Engineer materials the actual $$ payouts don't matter nearly as much. Now that we have those high paying passenger missions available, I just turn to those if/when I need to raise some additional cash. :)

It does make sense to get yourself at least one or two systems where you know you will always have access to the best that system has to offer. :D
