Renaming of star systems

Hello there!

I know that Frontier has previously shaped his representation of the Milky Way according to the new discoveries and changes that astronomers had been making lately. Accuracy is one thing sought after by Frontier whenever is possible, and that pleases me. Yesterday, several star system had been nicknamed by IAU (International Astronomical Union) and I wonder if Frontier can change the names of some of these star systems. These are the 14 stars systems with 31 planets that have been renamed:

Makes sence to me....if E : D is 1200 years in the future, seems to reason as we add terms/planets/ideas, the game would adjust accordingly

expanding on this, I think ED should work with the star registry and allow players to pay a micro-transaction fee in game to rename a star that actually exists but has some numerical name not just in game, but also in real life! Add like $1 to the cost of doing that and the community could start naming all the cool nearby stars, and ED could make enough money to actually grow this game into something even cooler.

If thats possible, that would be very interesting...except it should be more along the lines of a monthly vote, that 5 dollar micro trans would go to tickets for the vote so to speak. Otherwise people would dump hundreds of dollars and name them all, there would be constant changing of names there by ing off the registry, stupid names etc etc etc. Heavily monitored monthly votes would be neat, though.

I just hope Sweden doesn't ever get to name planets or we will have the horror of IKEA spread round the verse!

:D

In short, IMHO, nothing good for the game can come from this idea, just misplaced pride from some players.
I think what is missing is ads/announcements from Frontier on youtube. As for example, the 2 options added in keyboard options menu with now, colors for lasers, and coming colors for engines, or the cute little christmas tree. [praise]

If Russia do it, all planet names would end with 'ski'
If Africa were to do it, all the names would be unpronounceable by the human tongue and contain mostly vowels.
If UK did it, the names would be bland and uninteresting.

nothing good, except a revenue stream for FDev to improve the game, free advertising in geeky journals (because I'm sure this would make headlines), and a reason to explore. Sure there may be downsides, but surely plenty of good could come from this if you think about it for a couple minutes.
