Remember that what we're looking at here is history from the perspective of 3301 in game terms, not today's.
There's been mention of the Abraham Lincoln station in this thread - if this game had (somehow miraculously, obviously!

) been published in 1870, I'm sure a lot of southern US states players at that time would've been offended that a station was being named after a man who (from their perspective) had destroyed their livelihoods...
Likewise Cmdr Jacks' mention of what would happen if there was an M Thatcher station. If you talk to us British players, you'll find that most of us would at least understand, if not necessarily sympathise with, the concept of using such a station as a target for biowaste. The rest of us of course would be unavailable for comment because we'd actually already be out there dumping said biowaste
That's the thing with politicians and history, it's impossible to say today what their legacy may be tomorrow.
Cmdr Jacks also mentioned W Churchill - we all know him as the WWII leader whose actions were decisive in winning that war. Churchill is also known for this famous quote :-
"History will be kind to me for I intend to write it."
So while Churchill is rightly remembered for his part as a great decisive leader, his successes tend to overshadow certain other not quite so illustrious decisions in his own political history, like his initially chilly stance on the question of women getting the right to vote :-
"The women's suffrage movement is only the small edge of the wedge, if we allow women to vote it will mean the loss of social structure and the rise of every liberal cause under the sun. Women are well represented by their fathers, brothers, and husbands."
My point is, this is a
science fiction game set in the far future so who knows what people in 3301 would think? Heck, a lot of traders in the game make shedloads of cash from trading in slaves, and that isn't exactly a legal or moral career from today's historical perspective, is it?
All I can add is that if there was an M Thatcher station or (god forbid!) a T Bliar (yes, I deliberately spelled it that way - anyone who knows why...knows why) station, then rather than being personally affronted by it IRL, I would regard it as just history seen through a rose-tinted starship canopy by the space game people of 3301.
...and then I'd jettison 500T of biowaste directly in the mailslot of T Blair station
