Rep Decay = Dont' Want To Play

Simply baffling to see FDev have kept this in the 1.3 release after us beta players said this was not good... Baffling...

FDEV: making the rep decay is simply wrong - offline or online. Go back and look at the beta forums. The rational for this change was flawed as your team said it was to provide a solution to those that have been hostile to a faction. Okay, great. So those that work against a faction get 'foregiveness' if they simply ignore the said faction in 20 days. But those that support a faction get a penalty if they don't keep paying attention to them daily. See the problem?

Strongly suggest you quickly remove this bad change. As example I'll be on travel next week for a few weeks and will have zero time to play. So when I get back I will have lost all my allied status that took MONTHS to gain - not 20 days. And, frankly, gaining faction rep was a personal goal that at least helped make up for the shallowness of the game. So I'm here thinking 'why bother playing anymore ED' as when I return it will simply be yet more grinding to get back to where I was when left off = reduced progress = no satisfaction from playing game. Sorry but 1.3/PP offers nothing to me that compensates for this bad change. And this change as it is offers nothing but sending a message from your company to say "go away".

I'm not alone in this thought. Go back and read the beta forums if they still exist.

Anyone else find this ironic?

In the context of development post release, we're debating reputation in this manner?

Just use your credits balance and other stats as your achevements. power Play has messed up pretty much everything else so don't worry about rep. You call can still trade, mine, combat and explore without even touching the Power Play mini game.

So, I can completely ignore the Power Play side of things and just plod along as before?

it's hard to find goals, isn't it? Gaining rep with one of top three factions was one of the highest achievements one could earn. So glad FDev have taken that away to motivate players /sarcasm.

Hehe... what repair bills? I won't be playing you silly goose! :) I tell yeah it's these silly little things that drives me nuts with FDev. Ever since I joined last Oct these releases always come with 'hair' attached - some sort of bad thing often unexpected but sometimes known. Oh well, trying to fight the fight to keep the interest in this game but it's getting tough. Haven't 'pledged' into the other option yet but it keeps getting more attractive with each E D release...

I just wish they would stop it with new content for now and concentrate on fixing what we have!!
The missions in 1.2 needed fixing up, but overall I was happy with it.
I have no interest at all in Powerplay RPG. Just want to trade, explore and once missions are finally fixed do some of them.

Beta was not 20 days long. Did anyone actually feel the effects the feature? (Aside from some drops in rep due to bugs initially.) More importantly, why do you assume that it will take months, weeks, or even days to get back up to allied?
It is said that the decrease will stop just below the friendly/allied border. So, really, you just have to log in, do one good thing for the faction, and you're back to allied. Not hard, not much time needed, and just makes the rep system still relevant in the "end-game".
I haven't found the original quote myself, but I remember reading this too. You should be able to get your allied status back easily enough when you return from your travel. The intent of the decay from allied is probably not to increase grind but to keep being "allied" meaningful.

Is it 100 percent the way it was on beta? More often than not beta, when testing things in a beta they will accelerate things a lot, so what might be " 20 days to a beta" might be 100 days to the actual release. I mean if you get special privalage from a faction due to your heavy involvement Then suddenly vanish for 3 months do you think they will still exspend reseorces to help you? Especially if you used that time to help another faction.. This not only gives you. "Second chances" but makes you Focus in a handful of factions instead of being a god among all. I don't know a whole lot about this mechanic yet, but there is merit to what they aimed for . If it does happen as fast as you say, in the current buld then yes. That may be a problem..

This is just plain stupid.

Real time capability to carve out some flying time, should not affect your ability to play the game.

The Elite Universe is about to be conquered by teenagers and the unemployed.
