Whouldn't it be nice to have repair limpets to help people repair their damage out there , like fuel rats ? and have a new kind of rat : Repair Rats with a reward for them ? Repair points could be deducted from the afm units the repair rat is carrying!
I would hope by now that enough people have suggested this for FDev to take a bit of noticeAlthough I would humbly like to suggest "Rescue Rats" so as to cover both re-fuelling and repairing of stranded ships.
The problem is that FD refuses to give us the ability to transfer credits to other players. I have no way to reward the fuel rat or rescue rat that traveled 10,000 LY to bail me out of trouble.
I would be forced to go back to my home system, grab my Anaconda, buy a full hold of something valuable, and abandon it so he can collect it with limpets. It really is a pain to do so.
There needs to be a way that we can thank our rescuers that is more efficient than the current buy and dump cargo for them.
No.
Maybe a repair arm mounted on a hardpoint suited only for hull or canopy repairs. Or maybe the ability to align and dock with other ships to exchange fuel and parts and maybe even commodities or materials. In any case something that is believable.
The game is already on a downward slope with ethereal materials and instant synthesis, and I don't want to get to see floating red or green hull numbers, damage-over-time mechanics, flamethrowers in space and other kinds of abominations I've seen in other space games.

The Rats don't accept payment of any sort though.
Why? Is that really their official policy?
oh i could have used something like that last night. took some damage and the cargo door got jammed open so ended up disabling my fsd tooWhouldn't it be nice to have repair limpets to help people repair their damage out there , like fuel rats ? and have a new kind of rat : Repair Rats with a reward for them ?
