Repay Insurance Claims – "Death Counter" Reset – Option

I play the game as a survivalist, so the 5 insurance claims I have in my stats that I got back in 3301 are like a thorn in my side. I could of course just wipe my save and start all over again, and wouldn't mind that so much if there were a hardcore game mode option, but seeing as there isn't and I don't feel I should necessarily have to play with a self-imposed disadvantage to others in the same game modes who do things like suisidewindering and taking advantage of game exploits, I think it would be nice if I had the option to pay my own way in the game at the least.

So, that being said, two things I'd like to see in the game...

The optional ability to retroactively pay off all insurance claims to reset my "death count" stat, and the optional ability to pay the full price of a replacement ship and loadout upon the loss of a ship instead of making an insurance claim.

It's not a 'death count' as you note, you haven't died once, but the number of times you've claimed on your insurance. So, you want to pay a big some to wipe your insurance record clean and that will make you feel better looking at 0 rather than 5...? Even though you'll still know you claimed 5 times...?

Basically, yes. I suppose you could say it likewise has to do with the sort of character I "RP" in the game, or maybe just my style of playing. I don't want to rely on the insurance in the game, and would rather just pay my own way. This seems more fair to me, and would help give me at least some gameplay incentive to playing as a survivalist. For my style of play, the insurance premiums seem insultingly trivial.

I suppose you could just as easily look at it as being a vanity fee, which I'm OK with.

Perhaps in the future of the game's development this statistic could have some relevance with a Commander's reputation within the Pilots Federation, even if it was only in the form of flavor text, or the like. Could be kind of interesting, but I suppose that isn't all that likely.

I really like this Idea.
+1 from me.

Even better would be an Ironman mode but we all know Fdev cant code that in, its just way too difficult. :) (bite ya buggers bite)

Contact the devs and request that your rebuy stay is reset, due to a crippling OCD/completionist disorder that is/potentially taking over your life.

But nah, I'd rather repay it anyway for a clean slate, as mentioned above. It would be nice to have the option of not using the insurance system in the game to cover our well earned losses.
