Engineers Rep'ing with Engineers - even if you roll again/discard ?

I know the more you use them - the better the upgrades they can offer.

So, if you try an upgrade and then apply it - I know you get rep.
What happens if you roll again or discard the upgrade ?
Its still used the materials - so do you still get the rep ?

Yest it does. You can roll and discard and you get rep.

In the second or third engineers livestream one of the devs said something about you getting more rep for fitting an upgrade than for just discarding it and re-rolling. Haven't heard anything else on this issue from Frontier but it did seem to ring true in the beta.

I upgraded a shield booster and did not like the drawbacks, so decided to re-roll after I checked the standing which was at 38% in tier 1. The second roll I actually equipped and it took me to 29% of rep in tier 2.

Just wondered if anyone else noticed this?
