Hardware & Technical Replacementg for Saitek x55 recomendations

Heyo! to start. Yes I have read the previous threads, and taken some notes, but I want some info regarding my particular scenario.

I currently have an X55, its great, the HOTAS set up and buttons on both the joy and the throttle are well known at this point. And I have 'suffered' a couple of the usual x55 issues,, ghost buttons joy tweaking sticky throttle and so on. But I dont hate the stick...

The directional high hat on the joy bottom button is worn out. simply doesn’t click back into place, and will often click itself as its resting on the trigger. They dont make replacement parts which is pretty dumb, but whatever.

My question is, does anyone here have the x56, that can chime in? I am looking for a similar HOTAS, the warthog doesn’t seem to have a couple features and specifically the Z axis. Same with the CH. I am sure I could get used to either of them, but for 250 bucks the x56 doesn’t seem that bad to me...
Any other ideas or thoughts out there?

My X55 just died on me and I was facing the exact same problem. I went for 2 X52 (not even the pro version) because I like the design, it will break as soon as the X55 and I'll have a spare while waiting for Saitek's replacement when it happens. All that for 240 euros.

I know, this is pretty lame but honestly, I don't see any good solution until we get some Z twisting warthog. :(

I know it's not exactly what you are looking for, but a CH Fighterstick + CH Pro Throttle + CH Pro Pedals is a very solid combo and not a lot more expensive. I suggest you don't discard pedals, they are great and after a little while feel very natural to use.
Besides, most people agree that overall CH makes higher quality products than Saitek.

Yeah don’t get me wrong, I have been debating pedals for two years now, and Wouldn’t mind switching, I am just currently accustomed to the z axis atm

When my 55 died after just over a year, I liked it so much I was almost tempted to get another.

However I decided to go all out on the warthog, I've never looked back and can't recommend the amazing feel if this HOTAS in higher if it's in budget.
The lack of twist was odd at first, I had to use one of the many sturdy HATS. It did work ok. But still went and added a set of pedals, and this has only added to the feel of the game.

It's a lot of £ to pay out for one game, but as I enjoy other sims such as DCS, in my opinion, what it brings to the table in feel and quality and still yet to be matched.

Sounds convincing : I'll probably try the warthog once my x52 die. Thanks for your input.

My X52 (which has had problems since day one) is getting ready to kick the bucket, and I'm holding out for the new Thrustmaster HOTAS coming in September.

I have to second the CH recommendation. I'm running a full CH hotas setup and I chose them because of their reliability. I bought mine used off e-bay, 90$ for throttle, 90$ for pedals (could have gotten them cheaper if I'd been more patient), and 69$ for the fighterstick (sniped!). All of them had shipping included, but I do live in the U.S. The biggest problem was finding the non-gameport versions because the gameports are still around. They last that long. I did have some trouble with my CH fighterstick not reading correctly, but it was nothing that a screw driver, q-tip and rubbing alcohol couldn't resolve.

The one thing I would be worried about is that for 250$ you may end up with another Saitek product that needs replacement down the line. Cheaper options aren't always cheaper...

The Warthogs lower side trigger, usually the second weapon trigger on many sticks is also a four way HAT. I think it's actually used the countermeasures switch for the A10, but it does work well for your twist.
Until you just say, what the hell. And get some combat pedels.

Yeah The warthog is in my budget, but I didnt want to spend that... LOL

Anyone have some info on the thrustmaster coming in september?

My main requirements is enough buttons on the joy that I can navigate menus, thrusters power settings and so on without taking my hands off. VR would be nice down the road but the way my desk is set up itrs either HOTAS and easy use, or keyboard n mouse.

I have an X-56. It feels to me to be more solidly built than my X-55 was, and one of my friends who has also used the X-55 agrees. Of course, that could just be comparing a new X-56 to an X-55 that had seen a fair bit of use... but my X-55 was still working properly in every way (in fact, I gave it to my friend who is still using it now).

I do have to say, the analog sticks (for thruster control) are nice to have, though they take some getting used to.

I have the T-16000M Thrustmaster with the hall sensors and the twist yaw, and the CH Pro Throttle. I love it! The T-16000M is really accurate and has made a big difference to my fixed weapon use and module sniping. The CH throttle is very good too and has a wonderful array of buttons and a mini joystick for vertical/lateral thrust.. It also feels very solidly made.

So did you previously have your thrusters bound to the Throttle? Mine is set up with the right thumb top as thrusters and bottom as thumb stick as power distro. Or ios it just getting used to analogue vs input/digital
