I've joined the civil war action in Jera between the Jera Social Democrats (system authority) and the Jera Nationalists (incumbent system authority). I've sided with the Jera Nationalists and have been taking missions for them. So far:
- I have failed to complete a few missions for the Jera Nationalists (and succeeded on some others).
- I have killed 10-20 Social Democrat ships in the low-intensity warzones throughout the system.
- I have killed countless wanted ships in the system without checking for their allegiance (I only realized this later). I may have been shooting some Nationalist aligned NPCs here.
I'm currently unfriendly towards the Nationalists and neutral towards the Social Democrats. I find this rather odd... I would expect it to be, at the very least, the other way around considering my blatant targeting of Social Democrat system authority ships inside the warzones.
Does anyone have a similar experience or more knowledge on these mechanics? Are failed missions a bigger hit to your reputation than blowing up ships!?
