REQ: more ingame footage

Ho all,

Is it just me or there are too few of in-game footage in FD dev diaries?
Well, there are too few dev diaries as well, but I woul'd certainly like to see more of in-game footage in them. I know that ED is work in progress, but it woul'd be very interesting to see how game features, graphics and complete universe is being polished over the time.

And one other thing - is it possible for us to also have more in game wallpapers?
I'm especially interested in stellar bodies (planets, moons, brown dwarfs)....

I'm sure everyone would like to see more in-game footage, and we're looking forward to showing you the progress that has been made. You'll have to be a little more patient though, we're sure it'll be worth the wait. ;)

Im guessing you're the creator of that website (icon top right looks like your avatar - not checked the links you just put) in which case bravo sir - awesome effort :)

yep, link (dobrijzmej.ru) also similar like my nick ;)
Thank you =)

After seeing the first pic of the (almost completed) Sidewinder, I think the first piece of real footage is going to blow our minds.

I didn't realize that the one complete piece of footage they showed (where the Anaconda blows up the scavenger) wasn't even really pre-alpha stage...

Blimey mate! Do you have any idea how much time it takes to create a working video game? Its only MAY. I think working, in-game footage won't be seen until the private testing is done, I.e. Alpha and Beta.

I for one, am content to wait. :D

In March 2014 I think. Lastly I think I heard that. Perhaps I'm wrong, and perhaps it will be delayed for 3 months or 6 months. But originally it was March 2014. Well there will be the alpha test in December 2013 and the first beta test in January 2014 and the second beta test in February 2014. But in the coming weeks, I don't think, it is much too early. We learned the impatience with Elite, in the game, we were able to advance the time. But now we must wait. Aarrgggh !

:D

One of the disadvantages of Kickstarter is that after the initial excitement of getting the project funded, you have to wait for a good while so the devs can get on with making the best game they can.

It's a new way of buying/funding games and we all need to get used to it :)

Come on, Frontier - surely there's enough footage to throw together a 'Let's Play' Elite Dangerous?

Us cobbling together a game play video to show you at this stage wouldn't achieve anything or communicate anything to you about how the final game will look or feel.

We will have things to share with you in the coming months, but right now everyone in the office is knuckling down and getting on with the task at hand, which is to bring you the best game we can deliver. Hopefully everyone can be patient with us during this important stage.

And what about the wallpapers? :D

Thank for the reply and all the hard work you guys are doing, but evene the kickstarter footage looked awesome. Especially attack on Anacondas. So you have to understand why we want to see more footage (even if it's not polished yet, but it surely looks much better now than 6 months ago).

I told you guys... be patient and wait..

..but don't be doubtful, this long wait will worth it !!

Will it? I highly doubt they have a playable version of the game on their hands. The internal build might have a few ships, a single station, and mostly placeholder graphics. I may not be a game designer, but I know game design takes TIME.
