[REQUEST] An actual system map

Hey guys, quick request :
I really want to know where I am in a system and also the relation of planets to each other on a system map like shown here:

Oh believe me, nothing would thrill me more than to see this implemented. But at best this was a Photoshop mockup, never anything in game.

This, or more visualization options for the current system map, would be an excellent addition.

The "you are here" spot and maybe distances and ETAs in-system would really help. Don't get me wrong, the "abstract" view in the system map is really useful, but I'd like to have that as an option to a more realistic display.

As far as I can see all the information there is relevant, care to elaborate..?

While just a mockup, they already have a base engine to do this in the galaxy map. It would just need more features and code. They have talked about comets rouge asteroids and planets... They have talked about in system micro-jumps... My guess is that this will come in time, it was just not something they could get in to the game by launch, so like many of the features in ED, the system map is currently a functional place-holder.

I'd like this but in a concise and understandable way, E.I. this but everything is to scale and not warped with all the extra clutter.

I too have this quirk about spatial awareness, this is one of the top things I can't wait for them to implement.
