Here's a "heat map" of where people have been. Screenshot taken from EDDiscovery. I've circled the bubble in red.

Don't be disheartened by the fact that we've been all over the galaxy. A lot of people might have traversed it, but not even 1% of the stars have been visited.

Ok, could have been a lot worse, could have been a neutron star or white dwarf, but those are astonishingly rare between Sacaqawea Space Port and Eagle's Landing.
I did that part of the route quite recently. While there aren't many NS-es directly between the two, if you drop down to 1000 ly below the galactic plane, the neutron fields are present and quite dense there.

Thanks for the tip - did that on the first stretch out from Colonia, but then decided to go up to +500 for the current route. And was really surprised to actually find one system on that route that was actually scanned. Down to the last moon. And not even anything interesting there.

But I might go up another 500 ly and check the upper field.

My first exploration adventure:

I am from Australia and the Southern Cross constellation is prominent in the sky. I chose to head towards the star Gamma Crucis and then continued in that direction until I decided it was time to head back and sell my data.
