Would you please consider the following:-
Possibly using WMI api - a tool to identify the button pressed on a joystick/ throttle/pedals without having to go into the controls section and screwing up a perfectly working setup.
The button number/ID (as far as ED is concerned) thus identified, can be looked up on the control script to see what the bloody thing is actually doing. In my setup button4 (pinkie button on CH Fighterstick) activates panel look. Knowing the button lets me print out the control script and create a graphic card.
