Request for mission execution consistency and a convenience feature

I accept that some time spent running missions that do little to support pilots' individual Mitty-esque narratives is a necessary evil for rank progression. But some minimization of mission board annoyance might go a long way for some of us.

As it stands now, you can't accept a mission board task that grants commodities as part of its reward unless you have cargo space available at the time you ACCEPT the mission (which is silly -- one should be able to bring a strategy of making the space at the end of the run if one desires). But you CAN turn in the task upon completion, even though you don't have sufficient cargo space to accept the reward. In that case, you forfeit that part of the reward. That's fine -- unless you're collecting those commodities to unlock an engineer, they're pretty much junk rewards I (for one) would rather not have to deal with. They're literally not worth the time it takes to go into the Commodities Market to dispose of them.

On the other hand, you CAN accept Passenger Lounge fares that include a commodity reward without having the space available at the time of acceptance, but you CANNOT hand in the fare without having the space available to accept it -- making that behavior the complete opposite of the mission board's (and really stupid from a role-playing perspective -- can you imagine telling a passenger he couldn't depart because you didn't have the room to accept the agreed upon fare! <snort>).

If the missions' acceptance/hand-in behavior *has* to be one or the other, then the mission board one makes the most sense to me.

But a better implementation, IMHO, would be to let the pilot treat the acceptance of those commodity components as optional. Or, if not, at least allow a setting in the "Functions" tab of the ship status panel to "Auto-sell Mission Commodity Rewards" (without requiring any shipboard space sacrificed for that purpose).

I, for one, would feel much better if all those commodity rewards could just be consigned to those kind nuns who raised me back in the Asellus Primus system, without me having to manually make that determination, over and over, hundreds of times a day. ;-)

Failing adoption of these recommendations, as others have suggested, a one-click auto-sell-everything choice in that commodity screen (or better yet, without even having to go into that Commodities Market screen) would be awesome, especially if using it automagically exited you from that screen without further UI interaction. Having to scroll and scroll repeatedly to find, sell, and then exit that screen really, REALLY gets old. (Maybe the designers/devs play with mouse and keyboard, but that CM screen is an endlessly annoying hassle for HOTAS users and probably for console players) .

And, because you should always end a counseling session on a high note: Let me say, I *love* this game. According to my player status screen, I've spent 3W 1D 9H and 45MIN actually in the game and playing, managed to rank up to unlock the ships I coveted in both the Federation and the Empire, gotten most of the Engineers unlocked, and I feel like I've barely scratched the surface. Keep up the great work!
