[Request] inventory in station

you can already store ships and the equipment fitted to them, if the etc. includes cargo i'm afraid its already been ruled out as it could be used to manipulate the market.

I see - that makes sense. Shame, but I can see the point.

As for making Elite have a fully-implemented market, I have an EVE subscription. I've barely touched it since Elite got playable.

Far from being something to entirely aspire to, I believe EVE presents plenty of things to avoid to all that come after it. Some people really love the way EVE plays, and that's great, EVE is for them, but Elite is an antidote, both for those that hate EVE and those that love it - a true huge sandbox with enough realism to be immersive without the "having a second job" element of EVE.

The market is one part that I found particularly refreshing in its artificial simplification. You can use spreadsheets to min/max your trading, but you have the option of not doing so and just trading on demand, with instant sale and instant purchase always available at the published rate. Trading in EVE is frustrating if you don't use the standard spreadsheets-in-space.

The other thing is: You can move to another part of the galaxy without leaving clutter everywhere. Joy!

I assume you didn't mean cargo as you didn't mention it in the opening post, but I'd like to see a small inventory for modules allowing you to swap them between ships, or refit your ships to suit different missions, even if you had to pay for the refit.

For each 'refit', we need to buy things - again and again and again and again. I believe that the problem lies elsewhere and is on schedule and the launch time of the game. However, I believe that developers go in this direction - I hope - to give the game an inventory of stations.

Well, at least store things that cannot bet sold again, like fitting, and some items.
Yes, you can store a ship with fitting, but if you find fitting in space and is very good for a future ship that you might have, it would be nice to be able to save it, and many other situations that would help to be able to have warehouse in the stations.

hia,
An inventory, the ability to take only certain items on risky journeys, would be most useful.

... or at least put equipment into the cargo space. I don't need an advanced discovery scanner equipped when trading in known space, yet having it with me and easily mounted again on a stop would certainly be nice.

I agree that a way to store ship fittings would be great, rather than having to sell/buy modules every time i want to modify my setup.

Evochron Mercenary allowed players to store ships and ship equipment/modules, though the space on each station was limited to 5 modules and you had to pay a fee for storing that stuff. I think this would work well in Elite, unless there's something I'm missing. Cargo, though, is another situation altogether. It could affect the markets without a doubt, but this could be limited to a degree by limiting storage space in stations and paying a fee/ton of cargo/ day(or week).

That last bit is an argument I'll leave to folks who actually trade. But I think the first bit would work, and I can totally see the devs setting up such a system for starports.
