Request: Mappable Distress Call

I'd like a mappable Distress Call (SOS) button. The concept is simple - our ships automatically send a distress call if "Report Crimes" is on, and it doesn't if that feature is turned off. If I'm in a combat-ready ship, my preference is to handle my own problems. But sometimes I find myself in over my head, and in those situations it sure would be nice if the police showed up and helped. That's where my SOS button comes in. If Report Crimes (RC) is off, pushing this button sends the distress call, starting the timer that normally is triggered when we're fired on with RC on.

I realize that I can toggle RC via the side menu (there is no mappable button for this on PS4), but that's a lot of fiddling in the heat of combat, and then there is an added delay. Considering that I have a mappable button to turn off weapon and engine colors (LOL), surely we could have a mappable button to manually 'Report a Crime' that we can press in the heat of combat!

Thank you Frontier for considering this wonderful (and very easy to implement) QoL feature. Thank you forum peeps for clicking 'like' to support this new feature. Cheers!

If there were a button like this then I would consider turning off report crimes too - often the local security turn up and I'm doing OK :)

What response time do you think is appropriate?
Depends where you are. It takes about 24 hours to cross the galaxy (I might be a little wrong but not a lot), so less than that depending how far from a station you are.
Alternatively, ask the Fuel Rats, they have pretty good knowledge of rescue times.

Of course, if it appears as a big glowing light on the galmap, I'm sure there will be gankers there in a few minutes, for the lulz or something...

What response time do you think is appropriate?
The response time is already in the game based on security level (I don't have them memorized). The difference is that with 'Report Crimes' on, the clock starts ticking when a ship fires on me, whereas with it off, that clock would start ticking as soon as I fire off my distress signal.

I think that can be exploited (in PvP at least).
Generally I see no reason to turn off report crimes for anything but PvP, so no idea why you would want that?
