I'm currently wondering why we dont have armored helmets and body suites? i mean like N7 type stuff, or Lost In Space stype armor/helmets.

All of the 'flightsuits' have a helm, you just don't see them in the frontier store pictures.
The helms have options to be displayed, I have mine on emergency only.
The clothings are worn over top of the flightsuits.
As far as armored flight suits, not really a point to it until spacelegs becomes a thing. But yeah, it'd look cool I guess.
