The purpose of this post is to get an unambiguous answer to a single, specific question, from Frontier Developments. If anyone in the community knows where this has been answered elsewhere, I'd appreciate a reference. If you can't provide that, however, PLEASE don't turn this thread into a stupid argument about shoulds/shouldn'ts.
My question for FD:
Can you confirm for the record that the DK2 is unsupported by Frontier now, as well as by Oculus?
It seems to be strongly implied by everything the devs, CS reps, and others have said, but at the same time it has seemed like all statements have been carefully worded to specify that Oculus is no longer supporting DK2.
(See this thread for several examples of what I mean.)
I'm sorry if this seems trivial or pedantic, but it's kind of an important distinction. Many of the problems DK2 owners have been reporting popped up when ED was updated to 2.0.7, rather than when Oculus updated to 1.3. This suggests the possibility of DK2-specific solutions that FD might be able to provide, entirely on your end (without Oculus support). It's certainly understandable if Frontier has decided no longer to provide support for an outdated developer kit, but I'd appreciate an explicit statement from you on whether that is indeed the case.
Thank you!
