RES authority vessels

Authority vessels

Hello,

Can someone please explain to me how the spawns works with system authority vessels at RES sites. Are they only present at certain RES sites, and are they sometimes never present at certain RES sites?

I have seen the message 'System Link Error: security response unavailable.' when exiting out of super cruise at a RES site. Does this have anything to do with the system authority vessel spawns?

Also, if I am being attacked by a wanted ship, can I request help in any way?

Thanks.

1. You'll see this at hazardous RES (it's why they're hazardous) and compromised nav beacons. There is no authority response so be careful. You can still become wanted by shooting clean ships though, which is odd.

2. You have to have 'report crimes against me' turned on in your module panel. Doesn't work in the areas described above, or anarchy systems

As noted above, no Sec Forces in Haz or Compromised. The amount and strength of the Forces that show depend on the type of RES as does the variety and $$ of the bounties you can expect to collect.

Low RES/Nav Beacon - easier targets/Lower bounties/generally 2-3 Sec forces will show leaning towards Eagles and Vipers
Res - Med difficulty/ Med Payouts / More Stronger Sec forces will show
High RES- Med difficulty/Higher Payouts/ typical for 6-8 sec forces to be on hand in large ships
Compromised Nav/Haz RES - No Sec forces will show/ Targets will be highest difficulty/ Biggest Payouts

Note, Difficulty is a relative term. I use it to note difficulty relative to other RES sites not player skill.

Sometimes you can hunt for a long time in a High-RES without seeing any security. They're sticking to the other side of the ring or something. I sometimes use a wing of pirates to help take down a larger target. You can use them just like the authority vessels. The main difference is that as long as you've scanned them all, you won't get the bounty on you if you hit them by accident, although you will then have a wing of pirates mad at you. It's also important to let the scan finish on everybody involved since sometimes the target being attacked by pirates is not wanted and you will be if you help the pirates out.

HazRESs often have security now - I was going to start a thread 'What's the point of HazRESs?'..ie they are supposed to be hazardous, there shouldn't be any security here.

Last night while waiting for a particular cmdr at TZ Arietis for 2.5 hrs - he didn't show :(! I spotted a deadly FDL cmdr & after I had drawn the ubiquitous wing of fed agents out to kill them, I returned to give the FDL a chance to claim my 200k bounty in the system..the problem was 4 Viper security hanging around! Ruined the night for me as I'd hoped for my PvP fix b4 England's, awesome firepower destroyed Slovakia..that didn't work out too well either!

Pls FD, make HazRESs hazardous, otherwise just call them HiRESs!!..& stop this Powerplay in every single RES..they are like Ant & Dec..annoying little tw*ts! (twits, obviously!)

RES are also based on Support Times for System Security Levels: +Low, ++Medium, +++High and can take well over a minute for Low to show up and seem like they're not. Search the Forum for actual official times. If there's nothing going on they seem to come along each 10mins just to pop in and other NPC may not be there until they actually go away!

Yes in High/Normal RES but should not arrive as backup in HAZ re. previous post on Security Level for responce times.

Security ships appearing in Haz RES seems to be a recently introduced bug. The patch note for today's update doesn't mention a fix, unfortunately.
