Newcomer / Intro RES noob seeking suitable hunting grounds

So I've got my viper kitted out fairly well, but I'm having trouble finding an RES with bounties worth the trouble.

I can handle easily other NPC vipers, cobras, Asps, etc. I've even managed to take out a Feddie Dropship solo and a Python with NPC greens

Problem is I can't seem to find an RES that spawns anything other than Sidewinder, Eagles, Cobras and the occassionaly Adder.

I'm currently operating with 15 LY of Alioth, trying to get my rep up with the Alliance and various child factions. (Managed to flip sobek last night, too. So thanks to any other CMDRs working alliance in there.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Nothing can increase the chance of getting one of these lucky spawns? I seemed to get more RES sites with 'Condas in them when playing in Anarchy systems with few stations. However this only lasted for 1 day and now it's hit and miss.

i think it's really hard to gather statistical data on this because there are so many variables... or none at all.

Some people say it's completely random. Others say it depends on the power of the different factions in the system. Then next one sais it depends on how many anarchy systems are close by....

All i know is that there are systems that always had one "good" res for a long time and all of a sudden (after 2-3 Days regular farming) there where no bounty ships around at all. Maybe a sidey once in a while but nothing else.

A week ago I could literally make 4-5mil in a hard days bounty farming.....but lately I haven't seen a decent instance anywhere. I find a system and jump in and out...move to a different RES and jump in and out......move to a different system and rinse and repeat. Guess I'm going to have to go to trading cause bounty hunting isn't getting me the money I need to kit out my clipper. I'm looking for a 100mil and at this rate it'll take months.

Well dang, been trading fior serious creds, but about got both ships where I want them. Was hoping to break up the tedium with a few dog fighting days.

I use the top RES site in ARABH sometimes need to pop in and out to trigger the big fish. I often follow the authority ships around. They find the pirates

Warzones are where the money is.......if you have a ship that can handle it.... I mean not just big guns but shields and plenty of speed to get out....UNA made me lots of credit...

Last night, RES were still as they have been. Made around 5 mil in 3 hours. Good times were had by all, the cash is a bonus.

This is my experience with RES hunting: when I first started I has the same problem. I had a Cobra and that was the biggest threat I'd see spawn in, the the bounties were mediocre at best. Two weeks ago I upgraded to a Vulture and since its been large ships spawning, every time, and each run nets millions. That's led me to believe that npc spawns may be regulated at least in some regard to either what ship you have or the hardpoints you're packing. As further proof there's this - I'll occasionally RES hunt in a wing with a friend who's currently in a Viper. When together in the instance well see mostly the smaller ships. When he leaves to go reload ammo, ill stay in the RES, and suddenly the big ships will start showing up. When he comes back in his Viper, they stop spawning again.

I hang out in BD17-5832 with my Viper. Good RES's with starbases close by for the quick cash collection/pay off the bounty. Mainly fighting Adders, Vultures, Imp Clippers, and the occasional Fed Dropship. My question is, I have been playing Solo (hangs head in shame), so if I switch to multiplayer, will I be starting over?

No. All three game modes are set in the same universe - your ship, stats, money, all are the same no matter which mode you play
