RES or NAV?

Iv been bounty hunting for some time now but only in a NAV area and i got thinking if the resource extraction are better in how fast the wanted enter as i see people going for them rather than a nav point

So which do you prefer nav or res?

Depends which I'm closer to and if the RES isn't on the night side of the planet. I find either can give good large ship pirate spawns on a whim.

I haven't found to many big nasties around a NAV yet. so thier probably easier for someone starting out. They also don't have the risk of asteroid collision. RES seem to have better odds of spawning Master/expert NPCs in my experience and you can get Pythons and 'condas which will grab you over 100k per.

Mind you that's based on my experiences and not big enough sample size to say for sure that i haven't just rolled the weaksauce spawns while at the nav.

Res. 100%.

Just need a little patience to find a good one at times, oh and some spatial awareness....curse you immovable asteroid.

PS do not go to the dark side (of the planet)

im thinking of finding a RES but i can never seem to find one anywhere i live in CD-51 102 but not found any res sites around

id like to go in RES to get better piloting having to manuaver round asteroids :D

im scared to ask now but why not dark side of planet? >_<

look for systems with plantes with rings around them in the galaxy map. u need to fly close to the planet in question like <1000Ls to see the RES.

Visibility in sunlit asteroid belts is spotty at best. It's literally zero on the night side. The headlights! They do nothing!

You will understand after you boost and a rock suddenly fills your cokpit windows :D

hahahaha sounds deadly in dark side and headlights that do nothing haha XD

gunna find a ring planet and see if one is there

are they at all ring planets or is it hit and miss?

RES are always located around ringed planets, yes. If you don't get a good spawn, jump back to supercruise and drop in again until anacondas, dropships and clippers start appearing.
Do try nightside flying at least once though, just to say you have. Drop out of supercruise above a ring and fly through it at full throttle until you're clear to jump away on the other side. I double-dog dare you (bring insurance money).

Ring planets in inhabited systems, reasonnably close to a station, will a very good chances to spawn one or more RES. You should actually prioritize those close to a station since you won't have too much travel to do to collect the bounties and repair/refuel/reload.

this would be a good competition for players

see who can make it to other side the fastest haha :D

RES - definitely.

If there are just small ships (Sidewinders, Adders etc.) just reload the game a few times and eventually Anacondas will spawn - then the money just rolls in.
