RES - small advice

Few thing what we should know about RES and Wanted NPC's:

1. In a dark side of planet, always fly above asteroid belt. Battle will come to you. No need for change RES location.
2. Wanted person will always approach you, because they want to scan your cargo.
3. You don't need cargo space loaded with gold for bait, they don't see that. They don't detect: Missing cargo hardpoint. - May be this is for AI improvement.

Also i was pulled from SC by pirate for cargo scan. I don't have Cargo hardpoint.

Good tips, Commander. Repped. Just to broaden point 3, however...

3b. If you don't have cargo, they don't stick around long, so if you're looking to strategically maximise the amount of time a pirate loiters around you and then chooses to engage you bung something in your hold. Possibly not the best option for smaller ships who want to maximise their agility by flying light of cargo but it's worked for me in larger vessels.

I can't take that risk with Vulture. This vessel is not over power. It can be destroyed by wing, skilled, larger ships in wing, skilled also.
But with single target is different story. Also, i can detect him faster. There is no escape. They have suspicious movement. Easy to spot.

Besides, i'm not only one target for cargo scan.

Fair points specific to smaller vessels, yeah. Another tip/observation comes to mind regardless of vessel size, however...

4. Communicate with any CMDRs in the area who are mining. For one, it's neighbourly, but more importantly for both parties you may very well help them out if they are pirated and also get a jump on pirates ahead of other players or NPCs in the area. Bit more immersive, too, I've found.

I noticed this a while back, so I do just that. Sit above the field. However wanted ships do not ALWAYS come to scan you since there are other ships to scan..only ones spawning near you will come to scan you

The danger of having some items in your hold as bait is that you can find yourself being attacked by many small ships who want your cargo whilst you are engaging something bigger.

It's also more dangerous to leave your ship alone some distance away from a RES when you need to hit the head (or for those unaware of naval lingo, a visit to the loo).

After a few hours of gameplaying i must warn you all about 1. thing. Enemy can pull you to follow him between or around asteroid's, something like evasive - trap tactic.

Nah the AI aren't that smart. That's purely just something that happens as a by-product of the way they fly and how close they end up to asteroids but it's not deliberate
