I'm a little confused about the Exploration situation.
I spent about a half hour exploring a system, and then I slowed down to investigate an unknown signal source. There was a pirate there in an Anaconda, who said that all he wanted was my cargo. Although I did not have any cargo in my Eagle, he blew me up anyway, just for sport I guess. I didn't even see it coming: I was dead before I saw the flash.
The point is, that when I revived in the station and got a replacement ship, all of my scan data was lost. I had spent a half hour collecting it.
So, here's the dilemma. I cannot re-scan the objects that I had previously scanned for some reason. Why is that? If they're already in my ship navigation computer, then the scan information that I had should be profitable. If the scan data was lost, then the data should not be in my nav computer, and so I should have to re-scan. If I re-scanned, then I should be able to sell that cartography info.
So, how does this work?
