Horizons Rescuing a pursued SRV

I infiltrated a base with my SRV the other day, and a nearby security vessel started attacking my SRV resulting in a long pursuit across the planet's surface (which was awesome, by the way).

However, it became clear the security vessel wasn't going to give up, and my SRV wasn't going to win in that battle.

I needed my ship. But to be honest, I was too scared of losing it while the security vessel was targeting me, since I didn't know who the vessel would think was 'me'.

So I sacrificed my SRV.

Question: What would have happened if I'd recalled my ship in this situation? Would the security vessel have started targeting my ship while it was trying to land? Or could I have continued to distract the ship in my SRV until my ship had landed?

Would the security vessel attack my ship while I was boarding it?

Any brave souls tried this already? What's the best way to handle this situation? Is sacrificing my SRV the only real option here?

Yes

Ugh. One day I went to land at a base to get some MEFs and there was a big hill in front of it. I moved forward to get to the top of it to find a level spot to land, but as soon as my SRV wheels hit the ground I saw "bounty gained - trespassing" appear, and heard "ship under attack". Apparently, I had moved just inside the trespass zone as I landed. I rejoined the ship, and now all heck is breaking loose and to make matters worse, I seem to be stuck to the ground for some reason. Finally, my ship broke free and I made my escape. Wasn't fun at the time, but as it is with a lot of experiences in ED, now I look back and laugh.[haha]

Yea - lots of potential for some great Mad Max style action sequences here in future I think.

One more question: If my SRV got destroyed during a fight while my ship was in the process of landing, what would happen to 'me'? Would I be immediately transferred to my ship at it's current position (meaning I can battle the defence force)? Or would I lose the ship too?

Happened once to me.

Was on a "kill skimmers" mission and back then i still use my SRV to kill skimmers (now i use my ship, easier). Right after killing the 2nd skimmer some Master rank DBX swoops in and starts shooting at me. Suffice to say, i ran away and towards nowhere and it kept following me. During this time i realized that i havent sold the stuff in my cargo and i was afraid that i'd lose it when i die in my SRV (during that time havent died in SRV so no idea yet). I tried as best as i can to find some flat ground so i can call my ship and board. Moment of truth, i found a huge swat of flatland, called my ship (my SRV has about 35% hull) and after 30 seconds, it flew past me, past the hill and decided to land almost 2KMs away!

Times like these i wished we can command the ship to fire at the hostile (is this in the beta since you have fighter crew?).

And yes, i survived and escaped.
