Research Limpet/Tissue Sample

Wouldn't it be cool if tissue samples gathered from weird space life with research limpets had a decent payout, or some other kind of reward, maybe an interesting bonus piece of lore? I think that would be a quick/easy way to add a little more depth and interest to exploration gameplay.

Thoughts?

+1; don't really care about the payout, but collecting samples and analysing life/geology should have some gameplay attached.

Somewhat OT rambling on about too much equipment:
I find it very strange that we have dozens (feels like) of different scanners/sensors, and most can only interact with a single target. Take the Xeno scanner; it's -only- useful for Thargoids, yet it would make perfect sense to use it for the various space-based lifeforms as well rather than the "Composition Scanner". Alternatively if the Composition Scanner already does the work, why the bleep do we have the Xeno Scanner? Just to remove a slot from an anti-Thargoid combat vessel?

FDev rally should rethink all the bits and pieces of bespoke kit on our ships, what each one is supposed to do, why it can't be merged with another similar piece of kit (lore + gameplay), and then do a rebalancing pass over it all.

Nothing worse than kitting out a general-purpose ship, but still miss out on that one piece of equipment needed for a particular situation. We should have the possibility of a jack-of-all-trades-master-of-none loadout even without the magical Anaconda.
