Research page now has 37 hexagons

Is it just me, or are there spaces of at least 10-13 more dinosaurs to be added.

Which I guess would make sense - when you consider that we still have the Deluxe edition, the Fallen Kingdom DLC, and 2 hybrids to go.

I don't think those spaces are going to filled, like what PCMR4Life said, this messes up the hexagon theory.
42 Species + 1 hybrid
FK dlc 5 species + 1 hybrid
49 species in total, not enough to fill the gaps.
But I have to say, who predicted as much as 49 species a couple of months ago?

I wonder what carnivores may be missing in the base game. Giganotosaurus seems very likely but the rest I have no idea.

I discard dinosaurs like Tarbosaurus or Utahraptor by being basically the same as T-Rex and Velociraptor.

Maybe we have the Gorgosaurus, it is the only tyrannosaurid that is not discarded by the list in alphabetical order. I would be very excited to see him in the game.

In North America in the base game I only count T-Rex, Deino, Dilo and Ceratosaurus. Very but very few dinosaurs for many excavation sites there.

I thought we would have 60 species in game. But I was wrong. But 50 is a lot and we might reach 60 with DLC updates. Once Frontier figured out how to make the Dinosaurs I imagine the DLC will come pretty quick. I don't mean that quick though.

I sincerely doubt that the indominus has a species profile since it is a hybrid and not a species as such. I suppose that the remaining profiles will be the remaining dinosaurs to reach the amount of 37 species that come in the standard edition. The dinos of the deluxe edition will not have a species profile either, I think.

or they relase all the 17 that are left and skip any species profile on the release date if not the deluxe edition dinos or the Indominus are added the same day of the release ;)

Still 47 species +2 hybrids, is not bad, at all.

That still breaks down to about 1.5 dinosaurs per dig site - assuming all dig sites are unlockable (after the Fallen Kingdom DLC). Which I still some doubts about.
Also it leaves a lot of room for future species to be added with adding any more dig sites. Which could happen - especially if they eventually give us a Marine Reptiles & Pterosaurs DLC.
