reserve around an entry

Hi fellow zoo managers!

I've got an issue.
I created a new zoo in franchise mode to test a tunnel system, where the workers' buildings are hidden in the ground and they get to the enclosures through a door in the middle of the reserve.
I always get a failure message when i want to drop my lion there.
The reserve is closed. All Buildings are connected to the ways.

Hard to describe, please have a look at the image:

I think the problem lays in the fence of the reserve because it thinks the inner circle is an own reserve...
Any ideas how to fix it or get a solution? I dont want to build a door at the outer ring. :(

Best regards,

I don't think the game is this smart. The only thing that it considers being a habitat is simply "A closed loop of walls with staff doors". Concentric rings won't work unless the devs would give us the option to specifically choose which one is the enclosure and which one "outside"

It's a fantastic idea, what you have here, though.
Maybe that's something Frontier will consider in the future. Just like burrows under the fence and other things people have come up with.

I experimented with this and it did not work at all. Closest you can get is to lower the enclosure and place the door underground and build the landscape up around it. You have to build up the land then lift the fence through the landscape. You can then build a tunnel for the staff to enter within the enclosure. We brought it up during the beta but never got feedback as far as I Remember

I've found a solution and i'm reaaally happy about it. :)

Have a look at the painting:
(i'm sorry, im at work & i have no access to this page or the game, so i had to do it by hand with my Phone - masterpiece 😂)

The trick is to "bend" a really long rectangular fence (visually) til the end side pillars are as close at the starting side pillars as they could be, but no single pillar should touch or cross the other. The red area is an area which does not belong to the reserve, but different as i expected, there are no bugs & escapes in this zone and my lions are crossing this without problems. Of course you need to build something between the points where the reserve is theoretically open. I used a big Savanna Stone with a TV clinched on it to educate the visitors about my kitties. 🦁

I hope it's clear now. 👍🏼
