"Reset" Systems

Just wondering if anyone has seen a system they'd scanned in the past revert to 'unscanned'?

There's a system a few hundred LY out of the bubble that I'm sure I'd scanned in the past. I always bookmark the last system in the cluster so I know where the area I've been exploring is - so not only do I remember specifically scanning this ELW, the system itself is bookmarked.
But the system is totally unexplored, and none of the systems around it are marked as visited.

Deeply irksome.

Possibly. I've definitely had systems revert to unvisited. As in your case, some of these are bookmarked journey waypoints, so I know I've been there.

Fortunately, no. Last time someone mentioned something like this happening I checked a handful of 'my' system from back in 2014 and they all still showed my scans/tags.

When did you visit/scan those systems? If not too long ago you might be able to check your log/journal and submit a ticket to FDEV based on that.

I just checked a few of my season 1 tags and mine are all still there. My season 2 tags I can't confirm as I made a little doo doo a few days after returning from the DW expedition and blew up with thousands of star maps on board. I'm not sure which I had sold and which I hadn't.... (I'm currently on a mission to reclaim one of those untagged that I have previously visited, a lonesome ELW around a B class star)
While browsing through those old systems I found this, 8 terraformables on a string with 3 ww's amongst them. I wish I'd found that post 2.3...

Yip. Everything from around 1.4 to 2.1 which amounts to the journey *out* to BP on DWE. Trip back was fine and selling all data for the the trip out was fine.....but despite getting a heap of 1st discoveries, the systems are undiscovered to me..... that included Sag A* until I resisted.
I also revisited my first untagged ELW, and confirmed my tag was there..... still scanned it and got paid again ;>

There was an issue during a 2.1-2.2 update, I think it was that one. FD also updated the Exploration server & it got screwed up.

I remember having to re-scan two days of visited systems, that suddenly became 'unvisited'.

The issue was so bad that I parked up in the black until FD sorted out the problem. At one point, but too late for many cmdrs, FD informed the community to stop exploring.

I still don't know how many systems I lost data on, but since that mess Iv always used Captain's Log or EDDiscovery as a backup.

Had it happened to me, usually in the NGC Sectors. I try to catalogue all my first discoveries, and they don't become first discoveries until you sell the data, so on a trip I make it a habit to screen shot the system information that has 'potential' first discoveries. When I get back and sell the data, I go thru each system that I screen shot and verify that I got the first discovery tag. But in several of the NGC Sectors, and so far only in those systems, when I try to go back to verify, I am locked out of the system, and I know that I had potentials in those systems cause I logged it into Capt's Log of how many potentials were in the system. A year or so ago I made it a point to go back to 2 of those systems, and had a screen shot of the Sys Map, when I arrived, the whole System had changed, I pulled up the current SysMap and the screen shot I took, they were two totally different systems with the same name. I just make it a point to avoid any NGC systems now....
