Resoldering your hull...

Just a thought. Our hull integrity gets worn down on long flights, I think. Well, if we orbit a sun hot, like 120% kinda thing, shouldnt our hulls get resoldered and integrity restored a little? Maybe even fix a few percent on the hull damage.
Have I got space madness?

hehe. I think if the temp outside your hull, messes with any solder between panels, Houston you've prbably got a real problem .. especially if the ship's pressurised. Probably a lot of rapid heating cooling cycles in the day of an ED spacecraft, with variable stresses, introduced by accelerations or momentum of different subsystems, eg. engines on the air-frame might mean that your hull would weaken over time. In any case, it's probably a good idea to give it a once over with the ultrasound scan, checking for cracks, once in a while? ... +1
