RES's without asteroids?

So in the recent CG we had a RES without any asteroids to mine. I thought maybe they just did it this way to have a place where players can do the CG without the SC mechanics, as there's no other.

But now I found a system with a RES that would actually be really beautiful, but its so un-dense that the "asteroids" are the size of human heads at best....and I really doubt they can be mined.

It would be great if this saw a fix, but not sure its even a bug

I've run across several like that. Some were just plain empty, nothing at all there, including ships.

I recall coming across a res like this once. The miners would spawn in see there was nothing to mine a jump out again it was actually quite funny to watch...
