Restricted Area between Maia and the orion nebular?

Hi,

first time I have played elite for a long time, so I want to a little trip to the orion nebular. But unfortunately there is a restricted area with a spezial permission needed to travel further. I know such permissions for special systems of the factions, but not in empty space. I did not find anything about it in the forum. Did I miss something in the past year about this?

Col 70!!! I know, right?!?

Nobody will talk about it either! It's a huge sector... I hit that wall via Witch Head.

Yep, these restricted sectors are Col 70 systems. So there is no way to reach the orion nebular at the moment?

Thanks for the info, I hope they will add this content soon. Thats a big area, maybe for the Thargoids?

Unfortunately currently going all around that sector is the only way.

Its a pity they locked that particular region. The whole Pleaides / California / Witch HEad / Orion / Barnards Loop / Horsehead is a space tourist paradise.

The Col 70 region has been locked for a long time. So unless something has changed between 2.1 & 2.2 the route is Witch Head > NGC 1999 > Orion
