Restricted NAT type, how to fix?

07 all

I'm having a little issue with restricted NAT. I have tried everything from port forwarding the router, to the in game option, to both at the same time and even DMZ (which i know is risky). I have also tried the game files option and again all at the same time with both the firewalls on/off my router and my anti virus. I still see people in game in open, but not as many as i should at a cg or busy systems. Is this just some seriously bad networking code on FDevs part or is my router just not very good? I'm running a BT Smart Hub router. Should i go towards a more gaming orientated router? i have however successfully forwarded ports for other games that had the same or similar Nat type to achieve an open or full cone NAT. Any help would be much appreciated.

Enable port forwarding, then forward the same set port UDP. Please note that you need a dedicated IPv4 WAN address (static or dynamic) to be able to do that. You cannot portforward with CGNAT or Dual Stack Lite type connections. If it shows as 10.x.x.x, 172.a.x.x (whereas a is 16 to 31 inclusive) or 192.168.x.x, on the WAN port it's likely CGNAT or DSLite.
