I had not played this game since august but heard about the upcoming update so I thought of having a go again at it and omg I don't understand why I played this game for so many hours. As a returning player you are immediately hit with the lack of content in this game.
I hit uo the game and notice that my homebase is under lockdown. No pop up mentioning this. Only some tabs that don't work and a message in missions that some malcontents are causing trouble. Oh great you think: this is HQ of the almighty Li Long Ru! I'm in the middle of the conflict. Let's see what Galnet has to say about this major event. Nothing! So I get my laptop fire up the browser type "lembava under lockdown" and realize "oh no not this again". I'm in front of the TV with my console and I want to game. I don't want to be looking up stuff on the internet to understand what is going on in the game and where to ge from here.
I know there will be some reactions about the game should not hold hands but this is just ridiculous for a console game. I'm at a space station and I can't find any info on what is going on in the system, if I can do something to restore the situation or should just move.
I hope the upcoming update focusses on people with consoles because a game that has you use another device than the console to make you understand what is going on in the games is a flawed game.
When I return to ED I wanna know what happened since I left. I wasn't there when the Thargoids arrived so I know nothing of what happened. I can't find any info about the thargoids in-game rather than some mentions on Galnet about assaults. I don't understand how this universe can survive without galaxy wide internet. It just blows my mind.
