Returning player making mistakes

I bought Elite on the One sometime last year. Had a good time with it. Even convinced two friends to buy Ones earlier then they were planning to because they are space geeks and loved the game.

Life got in the way and I had to put it down for quite awhile. My last order of business was to finally purchase some ship I wanted and fit it out. Used every dime I had. Don't even remember which ship it was. Couldn't remember anything about the game and was going to hop on and relearn the controls.

Upon loading the game I accidentally discovered which button was fire, while in a station. Took a large loan out, reloaded, and proceeded to do the exact same thing. This put me over the million dollar loan limit.

I actually enjoy there being some penalty to dying, I don't feel enough games do that but right now I can't bring myself to start back over.

Oh, c'mon now. You know you want to. Quick tip - Accelerate & Decelerate are on the bumpers. Many players, esp. those who've played racing games recently, try to hit the triggers for these functions, cue 1 trip to the rebuy screen.

Hey OP, I've got around a thousand hours invested in the game, collectively across my two accounts.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Tough break mate, pressing the wrong button can indeed have dire consequences in this game.

Almost like you're flying a spaceship or something :D

Don't fret though! Just hop in that Sidey and get to it! Trade some rares, blow up some wanted NPCs, and you'll be back in the swing of things in no-time. It's a great time to get into the game, with Horizons/2.1 just a few weeks away.
