I originally purchased Elite Dangerous - Mercenary Edition way back in December 2014. I played for about a year and then drifted away so have no idea what the current state of the game is.
I am in the process of re-downloading that version from the Frontier store (I am on a new PC and have lost the original installation of the game) and was wondering if the version of the game I have will still let me play, or are there newer versions/mods/patches that I will need to purchase in order to restart my Elite career?

Also, I can't remember what my Cmdr's name was, so is there any way of retrieving that?

I know what you're wondering, but no, the FDL still has that off-center pilot seat with a big bar down the cockpit. I know.
