Hi Guys,

I have been away for a long time - though I bought Odyssey to support the Devs... hmm

Anyway what is the state of the game at the moment? I am going to have to re-learn pretty much everything.
I have some ships Asp Explorer, a Type 6 or 7, and a Diamondback scout I may have a Vulture too...What Career is best for making money?

Laser mining platinum is Op atm I'm told.
Although deep core is still best funwise.

Stacking pirate massacres also pays well. Getting allied with all factions then attacking for them.
Exobiology combined with exploration is a very poor last place alongside piracy hehe..not so good for credits. But again more rewarding funwise.
Lastly engineers
You can now engineer your ships for all kinds of things including weps shields jump range, power, hull etc.
Oh forgot hauling and mission running..mmm good for influence along with smuggling.

Welcome back!

The game is in very good shape. A few bugs and ragged edges, like always, but for the most part everything is good.

There's good money to be made in mining, combat, trading, and (to a lesser extent) exploration.

Odyssey runs well now, most of the performance issues are gone for most people. And the graphics and UI are much improved from the Horizons days.

You'll find your way, I'm sure.

Well....I have forgotten everything. I am in Celaeno system.... why? I went to an Asteroid field....I couldn't do much - fire groups all messed up, got it sorted...overheated...docked... Haha I love this game though.

I tried Odyssey for the first time after about 200-300(?) hours on the Xbox version (after console transfer). I'm flying solo and taking my time to enjoy the new features. Don't really know what I'll be doing next, but I'm really enjoying the extra level of freedom, getting some roleplay in my mind going on doing planetary missions. I don't get the negative feedback (yet?), I'll be playing this on and off for a long while, it gets me in the zone.

Ah yes... that was one thing in the wake of the introduction of multi-limpet controllers. On the plus side, you can now buy controllers that can control more than one kind of limpet. On the minus side, they're heavy - and the setup clashed with the old firegroups allocation, so you had to reassign all the firegroups after that change.
