Reverse / Rear View

Hi Everyone

I'm so incredibly happy that I can play Elite on my PS4. Having played this on an Atari ST back in the 80's, the evolution of this game is awesome and I want to say thanks to Frontier for a job very well done.

I have a quick question about rear view.. I recall that back in the "old days", you could be flying forward and it was possible to switch to rear view to see who was chasing you, plus I think you could have rear mounted weapons too?

Does anyone know if there is a rear view option on the PS4 release? I've looked and tried most combinations but can't find anything other than the camera options.

I sometimes use the camera suite to get a "rear view" as I am leaving a planet. Also sometimes use it to get a third-person view as I am flying around on a planet.

I'm not looking forward to the Thargoids - I always used to fight them with the rear laser while running away :)

Sometimes I wonder if that is why Braben has taken it away :eek:

I'd expect that the lack of rear view is to (at least in part) avoid combat being being reduced to one ship running, stern tanking using rear facing weapons, while being chased by another ship using front facing weapons.
