Revert to the original Launcher and offer a choice regarding whether to test the new Launcher.

While trying my very best not to be too dismissive of the amount of work involved and feeling quite bad about mentioning this—the Launcher business is a mess. Stated more usefully, it is a mess because the attempts to use it are venturing into unknown or unexpected problems and a hurry to fix them while everything is still ablaze and without an interim option to use the previous Launcher.

On the matter of the new Launcher alone—that is to say, excluding aggregated announcements—we have:
Acknowledging fully that a lot of problems cannot be foreseen and can only be addressed with valuable feedback topics as with those above—can this please not be performed in a way that could break access to Elite if something does not work as planned? With apologies if I am underestimating the task involved, this more than anything ought to warrant having both options around while any major problems remain.

To be sure, specific problems with the Launcher are relative minutiae here, including any of my own. It also matters not whether the new Launcher works for many; it is enough that it misbehaves for some. I am aware also that Commanders have created an alternative minimal Launcher; again, this is a relative minutia. What I suggest is more general—that the basic ability to start Elite is a much too high stake if there is any doubt, and that the mere notion of possibly breaking it should not be allowed without a safe backward route to keep everything working smoothly!
