Review JWE 2 (PS4 Player)

Hello there! Cheers from Italy!

First of all, I'd like to thank Frontier for this amazing game! I've been playing JWE since its release and I'm having lot of fun! The reason why I've decided to write this review boils down to two points: first, you deserve some compliments for the amount of work you have done and still doing; second, many players complained about how this game doesn't work efficiently on last generation consoles... which I can prove otherwise!

This game is bad***! There have been much of improvements since the first chapter of the saga, and those who say it's like a "JWE 1.1 version" or more like a DLC... well, they really failed to see the real progresses and developments you, Frontier, made! I managed to unlock everything during the first two weeks, completing all the challenges, campaign, and chaos theories. The latter, by the way, are my favourite, especially the San Diego scenario. Of course there's always room for improvement and work to be done, particularly to fix some bugs of which you're already aware. However, generally speaking, the game is a must for those who love the saga. I particularly love the fact that you brought back all the previous dinosaurs of the first game, and some of them have a restyle that made me appreciate them even more!

The new system, such as the amenities and the territorial needs, really add something realistically to this game that I just adore. Again, I manage to complete the game prior the release of the first patch, where you have toned down some difficult missions... which means the game difficulty is perfect exactly how it is, and that one just need a little more time to understand how everything works. When you get the amenity system clear, everything can be compelted, even the most difficult challenge modes.

I have a ps4 slim, and I must say the game runs nicely on it! In one month I only had two crashes. It logs from time to time, but nothing that could prevent me from enjoying my sandbox parks or chaos theories. On sandbox, for example, I manage to create a big park on isla nublar 2015 with (currently) 58 dinosaurs, and still the game runs ok. It only gives me some problem after two hours of game, which I think is fair enough! I think most players have problems with old generation consoles because they are... old! I mean, my ps4 slim was bought almost two years ago, and I've always treated it well. So, I suppose the physical status of a console and it's age also can have an impact on the game and its playability.

May I suggest something that you can discuss in you next meetings? in Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis there was a nice attraction that was a dome-like structure for guests that could watch dinos from an underground room. Would be nice to see it back! Oh, and the Raptor Pen... That's something too iconic per the franchise to not have it in the game! what about a nice comeback? lastly, but not less important, the species dinosaurs signs of the jurassic park era... something similar with a jurassic world style, maybe? Since some of us play on old console and you have to chose which era, it would be cool to have them!

I'll attach a picture (made with phone, sorry for the bad quality) that show my park on isla nublar... just to make clear that you can create a big park (and still have lot of room, for those who complains about lack of big maps) and that the game still runs ok.

I think people should complain critically; but many players have been complaining in the last month just because this is not the game of their dreams. Well, I think it's a great game and you have just started to make it even more greater! thanks again!

Matt
