Review of Elite Branded Clothing Store

I ordered three custom T-shirts and two polo shirts with various designs from the online Frontier clothing store and wanted to post my impressions. I don't think I've seen a thread dedicated to this subject.

The online web portal made laying out my designs very easy. If I hit an illegal place to print on, or if I went beyond the size capability of the logo or image, it warned me in red. Color choices were decent and I had a choice of multiple styles. I was able to do all five items in under fifteen minutes using the online stock images. Costs ranged from £20-21 (Roughly $25 US) per item, which I felt was a tad high initially, but we'll talk about that in a few secs.

Order went in and took about two weeks to reach me (ordered 2/8 and pickup notice sent 2/20). You should get it a lot faster. I live in Bermuda and there's a whole customs processing drama you won't have to deal with. Shipping was £19.99 on top of the order cost. This was to a US accommodation address and not direct to me on the island.

Shipment was well packaged in a soft, but rugged commercial envelope with all shirts folded neatly to make for a compact package. The envelope had been opened and taped by customs, but that was the only trauma. When I unpacked the clothes, the first thing I noticed was the quality materials. The feel of them tells you these are not cheap. Good quality fabric and the images I had printed on them are very nicely presented. They look great as a matter of fact.

I can't comment on long term wear or multiple laundry runs as I've only had them a week or so, but will make a comment if I see anything in the coming months. They all fit perfectly and wear well. I've had a couple of compliments already. The quality of the shirts is well worth the £20 per item and I'd happily buy more in the future.

Do note that the graphics will be EXACTLY where you put them, so take the time to make sure you get them in the right place before submitting the order. It will only be as good as you make it.

UPDATE: After more than two months of wear and washing the clothing has held up nicely. Small amount of shrinkage the first time out of the dryer, but nothing major. The graphics on the shirts still have crisp edges and look great. I'll wait until v3.0 is branded before putting in a second order, but I can certainly recommend the service to any interested parties.

OT - I used to live on Keith Hall Road. I remember many sad times trying to deal with Customs.

On topic - sounds good. Branded stuff isn't my bag, but glad to hear it's pretty good quality.

Nice. Thanks for taking the time to post your findings.
I might be pointing a few family members that way soon due to birthday coming up.... :)

I have two Elite T-shirts one purchased 2 years ago (Merc Logo see my Avatar) and one about a year ago(Elite Logo), so before the design your own, but both are high quality shirts and have held up well thru many washing-cycles.

I know the Darrell's Wharf area quite well. Fortunately, Customs is one of the few bad things about the island. There's more benefits than downsides. Cheers.

Unrelated question, living in Bermuda, do you feel closer to being British or American? I'd be interested to know the perspective of an overseas territory.

I'm Canadian, so I'm already straddling both worlds, eh.

Ah, so you're not actually Bermudan, if that's the correct term. What do Bermudans and Canadians think of Britain? Is it like something irrelevant you're still somehow attached to in name, or do you think there is a true connection?

Do you have to set up a separate account for the company that actually makes the stuff or can you place an order using only your Frontier store credentials?

Thanks so much for posting your review--been waffling on this mostly due to the price and not knowing the level of quality.

Thanks for this. Based on your review, I've ordered myself a premium t-shirt with the E: D logo on the lapel.

Sorry for this being OT mods. Will try to limit the response.

You have to be married to a Bermudian for more than ten years (and living on-island for at least seven of those years) before you can get status. Bermuda is an Overseas Territory of the UK and as such has quite close ties back to the UK. The Governor of the island is appointed by HMG and the police report to him, not the Prime Minister.

We get the majority of our visitors from the US (cruise ships and air), and our currency is pegged 1-1 with the US dollar. Canada has direct flights to the island as well and there is a strong ex-pat community represented by many commonwealth nations, south Pacific, South America, Ukraine, Russia, Europe and the US. Tourism is the second largest industry here, with reinsurance being number one. As a result of all that we enjoy good relations with the vast majority of our neighbours.

As for what I think about the UK, I was born in Lancashire, so I'm hardly unbiased.

Final note. Bermuda supplied the gunpowder that won the US independence from Britain.

Thanks for the review. Now if FD would just add the FDL and Vulture to their graphics selection I would place an order!

I ordered plastic tubing from China once.
Took it three months to arrive. One week travel and eleven weeks of Canada Customs trying to figure out if they could tax it.
