Not sure if this has been mentioned before, I've not seen it anywhere if it has - I recently started having issues with my rift where the audio started cutting out in the right headset speaker - it got progressively worse until there was no sound at all - jiggling it about on the sliding strap would bring it back suggesting a loose connection in the headset itself. This seems to be a "thing" and you can find others who had similar issues on the oculus forums.
Anyhoo, after ruling out a few possibilities, the helpful rift customer peeps said to box the whole lot up including controller etc (luckily I had a suitable box) and send it back for inspection, and they've sent me a brand new one. Its currently sat at a UPS pickup, took about 2 weeks end to end, 1 week riftless - so I'll check it out later on, hopefully this isn't a design flaw and won't happen again..
In short if you're having problems and are in warranty don't hesitate to raise a ticket with support for a brand new rift..
