Rift face pad uncomfortable, CMDR suggestions?

Well it finally arrived all the way from Thailand took 3 weeks and at first I was nervous to open it as the box was a little trashed from all that travel but wow what a difference. The frame fits exact like the original and the Velour goes on as velcro simple 2 minute operation and the comfort is 200% better than the original foam. Happy with that purchase 75 dollars for the kit and unfortunately I only intend to use 2 of them but I feel it was worth it the foam was starting to

Nice cleaning cloth came with it for the lenses also.

Sounds very similiar to how i first experienced it, especially ablut the temples.
My method so far has been to loosen the straps to about as far as they go, and ever so slighly angle the hmd onto my cheeks rather than having on my temples.

I also find the foam to occasionally be far to hard and itchy, a vr cover helps a little but not a lot.

I want to get the memory foam velour for the Rift. Oddly, they don't sell it with their custom facial interface, just by itself or as part of a deluxe pack. Did your replacement pad connect directly to the Vive?

I was just looking at the site and their standard set ($49) states ...

"With each order we include two foam replacements, a thinner pad that will bring you closer to the action by improving field of view and a thicker version containing memory foam which offers superior comfort."

Another post on this thread seemed to imply you needed the Premium set to get this but I'm not sure that's true?

Tried different combinations as the thick pads are for glasses wearers found the thin pad with the cover is actually very comfortable to wear

I hoping it's more comfortable as I have to wear the top strap quite high on my head, if I pull it down to the base of my scull as other people do I get a very uncomfortable pain a few inches above my ear towards the back of my head where the harness sits seems to sit on a nerve

So I have it higher consequently I have to tighten the front straps a little more to compensate. And it feels very gritty the foam best way I can explain it :D

Only if you want the velour pads you have to dish out another 26 dollars. The thin pad along with the cover works nicely so if you don't care about the velour pad go with the 49 dollar set

If you wear it like that the thin pad with the cover should work nicely for you. The velour pad works better if you wear it high as it kind of clamps on your nose. The regular cover with the thin pad seems to be very comfortable to me anyway so anyone ordering could just go with 49 dollar set and would probably suffice. I had their cloth cover for the DK2 and that was better than standard also.

Thanks again and I also brought one for the dk2 it was definitely an improvement over standard. Also found if I have the top strap high the front straps are left loose works fine for me

Well having spent the last 4 days trying out the different options I went with the thin valour which is so much more comfortable and is even more comfortable with the cover on. Only problem with the cover is keeping it on without stretching the sides out which seems to cut down my FOV slightly. But very pleased with the purchase for me it's well worth it
