Rift Headset Setup

Hi all,

Is there a way to set-up the headset so you are closer to menus etc. in-game?

With my current set-up some of the text is slightly blurred but if I move forward it comes into focus.

I tried to move my sensors but that didn't seem to work.

Thanks in advance.

I thought I did this but can't remember how.
Had to reinstall(or about to) the OR software...will post back if I do it again :)

What you could do is, when you start the game, move your chair some way back from your normal position, then press the button to reset head position, then move your chair forward again. It'd be a bit weird 'cos you'd be sitting on your dashboard but it might work?

Basics first.

Double check and make sure your eyes are in the IPD sweetspot both vertically and horizontally.

If that's sorted I would get my eyes checked. Could easily be you developed a slight myopia or astigmatism.

Elite and most cockpit Sims disregards the oculus calibration and just resets position to defined spot in the virtual world.
Only way to change is as mentioned to move after using the in game reset feature.

Just tried F12 , there is good and bad news !
Setup : move right back, the look at centre of screen and press F12(I was so far back I had to use a 12 inch ruler to press F12 :D )
Good news : Yes, when you move forward back in to your normal seating position, everything is closer and more readable!
Bad news : My left and right UIs were so far back I had to turn my head quite a bit to see. The upper UI is so close that you cannot see it unless you look up.

Conclusion : Try it yourself at different distances until you're comfy with your setup.
