Rift shipping tardiness

Hello folks

After some sage advice from you fine folks on this forum, I took the plunge and ordered my Rift+Touch bundle from the Oculus store (everywhere else seemed to be sold out at the time).

To the inevitable others who have no doubt recently done the same, what kind of shipping delays have you been looking at?

If there's anyone out there who, for example, received their Rift today - when exactly did you order?

I ordered on the 18th of July. My order status is still listed as 'Order'. I emailed Oculus a few days ago and they replied telling me that my order will indeed go through but that there will be delays due to demand.
I'm just trying to gauge what kind of delays I'm looking at here.


Any thoughts?

I ordered on the 16th, and have the same "Order" status as you.
Also contacted support last week, and got the same canned response.
Really wish they would put an appropriate order status like "back-ordered, no ETA", then they wouldn't be getting as many silly support tickets.

On another note, I did get my daily newegg deals email, titled: "$399 Oculus Rift + Touch VR System is Back in Stock!"
So oculus is shipping units.
Hopefully I'm not too far down that priority list...
 
Ordered mine on 11 July...still waiting for order to be processed [where is it]. Fortunately have a HDK2 to get me by.

Lots of people asking the same question, and some with answers.
It seems to be normal to be waiting for more than a week until the status changes to "processing".
I cannot look into Oculus' order queue of course, and it depends on a lot of factors, but I guess it would be realistic to expect shipping in the first half of August. If that helps.

Seems to be quite a rush on Rifts since they started the sale.
 
When I ordered a third sensor a while back, I don't think my order ever appeared as "shipped". I can't remember whether it was listed as "ordered" or "processing", but it stayed that way until it was on my doorstep, a few days later. I think their site tends to be a little light on the information.
 
Yeah, the main design guideline for the whole Oculus website seems to be: "Information just confuses the customer". :rolleyes:

Ordered it on the 19th, Oculus support reckoned two weeks, when queried to confirm order.
 
Don't feel bad guys. When I ordered Jan 2016 (a week after launch), it took 6 months to get mine.

God, I remember how we were estimating shipping times based on the precise minute it was ordered. It took at least a month or so before they got past the 6min mark of the first hour of preorders. I think every 10min afterwards counted for a weeks worth of shipped orders or something. It was hell.

Yep, I ordered (from Oculus) a week or so ago and still have not moved status wise!
 
Ordered the Oculus special bundle on 11 July. Received an email today that the order is being processed (i.e. actually underway).
 
Ordered mine from Overclockers first thing in the morning and it was delivered via DPD the next day (about a week ago) but now showing "pre order" on their site. I only ordered one as I got an email from them about the price reduction, that was enough for me[big grin]

Was that for the one including the XBox controller? If so, those ran out, and the new bundle - which seems to be out of stock everywhere - is the new one without that controller.
 
I ordered mine on 14th July and received an email back about my order yesterday.

Oculus didn't give any exact dates but they said something along the line of that they would be getting new stock in at the end of the month for suppliers and orders could be a couple of weeks after that. so I am expecting my CV1 bundle some time in the middle of August, that's how I have understood it anyway.

They also said that if I wanted to cancel my order and go direct to another supplier they could help me with that which was a bit strange. I guess they have some serious issues with the supply chain and more people ordered than they expected >.<

Well, oculus finally tried charging my card yesterday, and of course capital one decided to flag it as suspicious.
Then I got an email from oculus about changing my bank info because the charge failed.
With my luck, this put me back to the bottom of the queue.

Uh and oh, that doesn't sound promising, I made my order ten days after yours... Well, I hope they'll sort their things out soon. Though, my future computer is being compiled too at the moment so no rush in that sense... I hope it arrives during next month anyways. In the meanwhile, if Oculus takes awhile to be delivered, I think I'll be tweaking my controller setup to be perfect.
 
Finally got my shipment notice yesterday. woohoo!
Will be here on the 29th, so 13 days since I ordered.
Not too bad.
 
Looks like the queue is indeed moving.

I ordered my 2nd CV1 on the 18th. Got the tracking # yesterday. UPS says it will be delivered on Aug 3. Total days from order to delivery will be 16 days.
